Salary:  $75,000 - $100,000

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Serve as Medical Director, providing leadership and clinical guidance for the Ohio Physicians Health Program (OPHP) and support the health and well-being of program participants.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the clinical functions of the organization including: Monitoring & Advocacy Program, referrals for resources, and the execution of the One-Bite Program. (60%)

  • Performs comprehensive substance use disorder and behavioral health assessments. (10%)

  • Collaborates with staff to establish program guidelines to ensure the proper intake, assessment, monitoring and compliance of program participants. (10%)

  • Provides educational outreach programs. (10%)

  • Collaborates with Marketing and Development Associate for OPHP’s fundraising activities and marketing needs. (10%)

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Experience and Education

  • An M.D./D.O. degree required;

  • Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Ohio.

  • Board Certification in psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, or addiction medicine preferred. Relevant experience will also be considered.

  • 10+ years of related experience in the diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorder strongly preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Skill in the application of appropriate assessment and clinical protocols including monitoring for physicians and medical students with a variety of potentially impairing and complex conditions.

  • Experience participating in a multidisciplinary team in assessments and formulations to determine level of care preferred.

  • Aptitude for and/or experience with collaborating with a leadership team.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary.

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons of diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, gender identity and professional backgrounds.
